Musicator Win 2.1 Integrates Digital Audio, Sequencing and Scoring
Musicator A/S of Norway has recently added Digital Audio Recording and Playback capabilities to its Windows-based sequencing and notation program. Musicator Win 2.1 records wave files of any length and synchronizes them to its MIDI tracks. Audio data can be viewed in several ways: in an audio list, as wave forms, as rhythmic objects in the notation window , or as darkened boxes in the tracks overview. Cut, Copy, Paste, Drag & Drop operations can be performed on digital audio regions, similar to editing MIDI data and music notation.
Musicator Win offers powerful sequencing, publishing and digital audio features under one roof, allowing users to record, edit, playback and print music from their PCs. Musicator provides SMPTE/MTC sync, automated mixing, multiple MIDI ports, auto punch in/out, graphical control off all MIDI controllers and extensive support for GM/GS instruments. Rests, ties and beams are automatically entered when notes are inserted, moved or deleted. Notation can be quantized without affecting the underlying MIDI data, allowing a performance to retain its live musical character. Chords, lyrics, dynamic marks and jazz phrasings can be added from Musicator's extensive graphic palette. Notation can be exported to PageMaker and other DTP programs.
Musicator Win offers a full set of edit and display windows including standard music notation, piano-roll editing, measure and track overview, zoomable page preview, MIDI controller windows with graphical editing of all controllers (aftertouch, pitch bend, tempo, modulation etc.) audio list wave form display, automated instrument mixer, and drum mixer with individual pans, tuning, reverb and volume.
Musicator Win's digital audio features require a 486 CPU or better, 6 MB RAM and Windows 3.1.
